PUBLIC NOTICE The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is considering ways to reestablish the endangered northern aplomado falcon into New Mexico and Arizona. The Service is exploring the use of experimental status under Section 10(j) of the Endangered Species Act for possible falcon release. Five meetings will be held to gather information and develop a list of conservation strategies that will be analyzed in an environmental assessment. All meetings begin at 5 p.m. with an informational session followed by the scooping meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Written comments are encouraged. Comments should be sent by mail to the Field Supervisor, New Mexico Ecological Services Field Office (NMESFO), 2105 Osuna Road NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87113 or by email to informational meetings and public hearings will be held.The following meetings have been scheduled in New Mexico:• February 4, Tuesday in Deming at the High School Auditorium, 1100 S. Nickel.• February 5, Wednesday in Alamogordo at the Civic Center, 800 East 1st Street.• February 6, Thursday in Carlsbad at the New Mexico State University, Room 153, 1500 University Drive.• February 11, Tuesday in Socorro at the Macey Center, Main Auditorium at New Mexico Technology, Olive Lane.
